Waiting 120+ days

#1

Post by therev »

As I look around the forum to see who is still waiting from early March for their license to be issued, I thought I'd ask if anyone is still waiting for their licenses for 120 or more days? Have you been waiting 120+ days, but DPS has not told you there are issues with your application?

I called DPS today and was told they were waiting on some background information to come back. This is at odds with what I was told two weeks ago when I called, that they had all background information back and were waiting for final processing.
3/1/2008 - Took CHL Class
3/4/2008 - Packet received by DPS
3/14/2008 - Application entered by DPS
7/16/2008 - 125 days - Status changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"
7/19/2008 - 129 days w/ no issues - Plastic received

i am at day 119. Tomorrow is the big 120. There has been no issues with my application so far but I called 2 weeks ago and was told that they were waiting on one of my back ground checks. Ready to leave the waiting room allready. Checked the mail about 10 min ago and no plastic.

Yep 134 Days here.

My prints got rejected at day 110.

My prints are out to the FBI for the background check so maybe were in the same batch.
Whatever the case is, I'm tired of this wait!

I have a similar time frame to RugerP345's. Had the class March 1st, delivered to austin early the following week, got pin several weeks later, had to retake prints, and mailed off new prints the same day as Ruger.

Maybe it will come in time for my birthday in mid August.

Called to DPS just a bit ago and to my surprise (yea right) my prints got rejected....... again!!!!!

Don't know what to say, first time around they were rolled, second time around I did the FAST prints.

Not sure what I'm going to do the 3rd time around. I got on the website that schedules FAST prints and the location I went to last time doesnt show up on the list!!!! :smilelol5:

I'm guessing I'll have to go down to Webster PD and get them rolled.

Ninjaneer, let me know how yours turn out as I believe we went to the same place in Pearland.

I think bad prints is just an excuse they use. Last time I re-uped my license I had to send them two sets of prints before they OKed it. It's not like they haven't got them........I've be licensed since Feb. of 1995 and I don't think they've changed. Hang in there!

:iagree:

Take away that excuse (Mrs.Oldgringo-four sets of prints over 160 days :banghead: ) by starting your application with the DPS preferred FAST prints. That $10 could save you lots of anguish down the road. :thumbs2:
