After a long wait (since the end of feb), today i also took that long walk to the very end of the driveway to the mailbox. I really did not expect to recieve my plastic since everything else seemed to take forever with the DPS. But among some of the other things in the mailbox, i finally recieved my plastic. Have not bothered to look at the other things in the mailbox yet. After i got it i went and did my wally walk. Which was really wierd it felt like everyone could see through me. I am sure that will pass in time. So in conclusion, my wait is over. I hope everyone else that is waiting in here has a short stay. It is a long and horrible wait, but it is worth it in the end. One thing i have learned through this. Dont look at the pin, you will look at the website a thousand times a day, they just send it to you for torture.

109 days for me. chl received 3/03/08, delayed as I forgot to mail copies of case disposition with application. One week later, was told application was approved but they were waiting on plastic cards from the printer. checked today and status read "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"!!! WoooHooo. Time to clean the rust off of my bersa 380!

Called TXDPS today and almost fell out of my chair when they answered on the 3rd ring! A polite lady asked for my name and social, confirmed my PIN and said they DID indeed have my completed packet and had begun processing my application back on May 16th. She said they are waiting on the background checks to come back. I asked and she did confirm that they had hired more folks to process the apps but could not tell me exactly when they would be completing mine as they cannot control how long the background checks take......but I'm happy knowing it's at least in process. :anamatedbanana Woohhoooo shouldn't be too long now!

How long has it been taking most of you to get your plastic after the status changed to complete?

Just checked the DPS site, and saw the following:

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

Now it's time to wait on the mail.

Well, I'm out of here and giving up my seat. I logged on today to find that my application is complete. I was beginning to think that people really didn't get approved and that getting approved was a hoax.

I'll be waiting for the plastic for the next week and then its off to wally world! :clapping:

Plastic arrived today. I saw the mail man coming down the other side of the street and stood by my mailbox waiting for him to come back up my side...LOL.
After months of anxiously waiting for my plastic, it is rather anti-climatic. It looks like my drivers license, only I look fatter in this picture. I'll leave the door open on my way out so the rest of you can get out quicker. :cheers2:
