STOLEN TAURUS... PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT!!!
Ok, this weekend I ran in a Father's Day kids 1k with my two sons in downtown Houston. During the run, between 750 am and 9am someone broke into my truck and stole a Taurus .40 cal PT 24/7 pro in black and stainless. Serial numbers start with SZK. Police have a full report inclucing serial number. It was hidden out of plain sight and I think someone just got lucky in finding it. PLEASE write to me if you hear of someone trying to hawk this or any advice on how to recover it. I have only had it for a few weeks and only got to put a hundred rounds or so through it. It upsets me to think that my gun is out there now is some thiefs hands possibley being used in a robbery or worse.
Thanks for looking...

I'm in Houston.
Which run, what date, what part of town were you parked in. I ask because I have contacts on the North side, but not the South. If I know corresponding info, I can have my friends keep an eye out (many are LEOs)

There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I know not everyone is familiar with Taurus. Here's a photo (though a bit blurry) of what that model looks like.
You might also try calling Taurus and letting them know it was stolen. If it gets resold to someone who doesnt know it's stolen and turned in at some point for warranty work they might be able to notify you.
My sympathies for your loss sir. :(

Thank you! You may be hearing from me. I am actually thinking of replacing it with a Springfield Armory compact .45 in OD green and stainless.
Pros? Cons?

I personally dont see the harm in posting the whole thing, people post clear pics all the time with sn visible. But no need for you to, just the last 2 should be plenty, might be another one in the shops that starts out like yours.

Re: STOLEN TAURUS... PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT!!!
FYI went to 6 pawn shops around GulfGate Mall area today, no sighting. But, 1 shop told me they have to hold all items sold to them or pawned for 60 days. It might take 2 months to appear on a shelf.

yeah. I've been told the same. I'll have a replacement by then but it sure would be nice to get it back. It is the most comfortable shooting gun that I've shot.

Re: STOLEN TAURUS... PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT!!!
Sorry about you loss.
I really hate to leave a firearm in a motor vehicle (and this is NOT a criticism as sometimes this is the only thing you can do besides leave it at home or stay there yourself.)
especially consideration a gracious dealer is going to help you at cost -- a very nice price.
Unless you feel the need to change caliber, type, capacity, etc for some tactical reason then:
It is the most comfortable firearm that you have ever shot. What could be better than that?

Given this, and your request for thoughts on replacing with a Springfield, I think you have answered your own question, ktusc wrote:yeah. I've been told the same. I'll have a replacement by then but it sure would be nice to get it back. It is the most comfortable shooting gun that I've shot.
