I am seeing a lot of "waiting on FBI check" delays. How long is an FBI check supposed to take? What does an FBI check consist of for concealed carry?

Good question. It can't be much more extensive than when you are applying to work at the airport or joining the military. Heck, even to do work in a defense contractor's facility usually requires a background check.

Well, I received an email from DPS and this is what they said

"Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN number."

:mad5 I tell you what, this has really got me disappointed, especially when they got my packet on MARCH 19!!

Oh well, I guess there is really nothing that can be done.

Well guys, I finally got my CHL yesturday. Took about 132 days, I really thought it would never come, then I just out of the blue checked the status of my app online and it had been approved. Took another 4 business days to arrive at the mailbox, but now I have it and its good for 4 years. Good luck guys, keep hope alive. Man it feels good to be out of the waiting room!! :biggrinjester:
