The deadline for match application to the Texas State Championship has been extended by one week. We have about 20 slots left.

Hmmm, I just shot the Classifier for the first time on Sat (5/24) at Jacob's Plain Gun Club. Figured there was no way I had time to join the fun with the deadline of the 26th. So you're saying I could still get in on the fun ? Application fee is $95, correct ?

Don't expect to win anyting but it sounds like a blast for sure (pun intended) :hurry:

The prize table for TX State has now exceeded $23,100.00. There are no junk prizes.

Wow, that's allot of loot!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone again. It's been a while since I've shot a match but it'll be a blast to see the stages people have come up with! Looks like it should be a little drier than it was last year. Skip the umbrella and bring the sun block!!

Not sure if it mentions it on the website. I didn't notice it, but we should bring our IDPA membership card and classification card, right? Anything else besides our gear?

Always bring your classification card, you never know when you might get bumped.

To those of you traveling to North Texas this weekend, have a safe trip and good luck. See ya there!

Ah the good old days, when one could take the stage easy, no running, no hurrying between shoots. I'll keep the name for the memories...... :coolgleamA:

The 2008 Texas State IDPA Championship was once again a rousing success. Collin County IDPA pulled off another great, and our largest ever, sanctioned match. The weather was perfect!!!! We had over 200 shooters accelerating a minimum of 41,000 rounds down range safely. Probably closer to 45,000 actual. I believe only the Carolina Cup, IDPA Nationals, and the S & W match run more shooters and they all do it over 2 and 3 days. Our lunch, catered by Dickie's BBQ, was excellent. No one missed lunch and there was food left over. The prize table this year soared to over $23,000.00. (No cheesy prizes allowed) Including the 13 pistols given away, there were so many prizes that all shooters present won something.

Once again, a huge thanks and congratulations to all those that worked match. We had a staff of almost 50. A match of this size a and magnitude would not have happened w/o your talents, support, back muscles and sweat. There were NO FTDRs. This is a testimony to our SOs abilities to properly instruct shooters during course descriptions. We had only 1 DQ and that was for a round over the berm. A special thanks to Lee Neel for everything he did helping me put this match together.

We had a contingent of SOs from Cross Timbers IDPA (Ft. Worth). George Mumford (pres.) and his crew performed admirably as I knew they would...Thanks guys.

I know I had a blast!!! Already can't wait for next year!!! Thanks to all who helped setup and work this event. Everything seemed to flow nicely and there was plenty of time to shoot. Stages were easy for everyone to shoot and I'm very happy with the pistol I brought home!! THANKS!!!

.....now to get to practicing for Conroe!

Yeah, go figure........what are the odds? Last year I won the raffle XD9 with the trigger job, sights and grip tape. Canyon Creek really worked that baby over but no matter how sweet it was, it just didn't fit me. Next year I may be entering my Beretta as an ESP gun.......only time will tell.

What'd you win this year?
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.
