I've tried 3 kinds. the first was ...winchester(? cant say for sure) 7 1/2 Heavy Target. this stuff ran fine on gas setting 2.

then I bought some winchester white box Super Target. thumbs down on that. FTE on every round. I only have less than 100 rds thru, so I may yet get that stuff to work.

now I have some winchester black box Super Handicap 7 1/2. this is some pretty potent stuff and cycles the action no problem.

00-Buck on gas setting 1 runs just fine as well.

I also have an 870, but like the saiga alot more. reloads way faster , recoil is less, followup shots are quicker.

at the IDPA I attend, after the match is done, they let you run one of the stages a second time with shotgun (replacing targets with steel). I ran this with my 870, and am slow as molasses reloading. I havent yet had the chance to try the Saiga at a match, but will likely do it next Sunday.

you gonna spring for the 20-rd drum? :evil2:

This is the closest I have to a SKS/AK

Image

It is a CZ-52 Rifle re-chambered in 7.62x39 from the original 7x57 or 7.62x45
I have kept it as it has BHO, threaded muzzle and a much faster cyclic rate compared to an AK.
I only have 2 10 rd magazines though.

Excellent info, thanks! Eh..it keeps jumping up in price so much! I think I likely wont. I can get 3, maybe 4 10 rounders for the price of the 20. I figure that is more prudent :grumble

Excellent, and I like the paint job. I have the often confused with yours CZ-52 pistol as a car only BUG.
Maybe I'll come across one of those at the gun show.
