Howdy folks,

I'm a 42 year old single male, turning 43 on tax day (Oh joy!). I'm in career transition out of computers and into firearms/gunsmithing.

I live in El Paso for now, with plans to move to my land in Colorado in the next few years.

I've had a CHL since about 2 years after it started. My 70 year old mom beat me to it, and outshot my score while doing it. I don't feel so bad, she outshot the rest of her class too.

I currently carry a Bersa Mini Firestorm .45 ACP and in hotter weather a Kel-Tec P-11.

Welcome PPM, from another lady on the forum! I checked out your website and especially love your pet pictures. We have tried many times to capture the personality of our weiner dog in pictures, so I KNOW how difficult that is. Again, welcome to the forum! I look forward to your input here.

Hey PPM!

Glad to see you finally registered here. Welcome aboard.

Let me assure you folks...PPM is a no-nonsense, pistol packin' mama! She is quite handy with a handgun. I pity the poor fool that, because of her age and stature, mistakes her for an easy target. BG's beware!

Howdy!

I guess I'll start out with the essentials..

I'm a 26 y/o male that likes long walks along the beach and candle lit dinners..
Let's restart. I'm a 26 y/o male. I am paramedic for a private EMS company. Been doing it for 6 years now. Let me see, I'm not married so I get to do whatever I want. My CHL expires in Sept. so it will be 4 years..
My primary CCW is a Springfield 1911 GI that I had spiffied up. It shoots like a champ. I also have other guns that I use for non-sanctioned practical shooting. I started shooting with TXDPSA in December and have been stuck ever since.

It seems like a good group of individuals here.

I just noticed this topic, sorry I'm a little late. I'm 30yrs old and work as a truck dispatcher hauling overseas containers...it sucks, but it pays the bills. I am very happily married with 3 kids, ages 5, 2, and 1month old.

My carry gun when I get my &^%$#@& certificate.TR100 in the mail will be a Springfield XD-40 service model. With a CTAC holster.

Other firearms you may find in my home are the following (in case anybody is interested)

Colt AR-15 A2 Lightweight, with Eotech 512 on gooseneck
AK-105 custom built by Investment grade firearms
SAR-1 (Romainian AK)
SA-M7 (Bulgarian AK) with Aimpoint ML2 on Ultimak rail
HK-91/G3 custom built by Investment Grade Firearms
Springfield M1A SOCOM with Eotech sight
Chinese SKS (Norinco)
SPAS 12 Gauge
Remington 870 Express
Remington 1100 (was my Grand-daddys)
Ruger 10/22
Springfield XD-40 service model
Ruger p94 9mm
Glock 17
Glock 19

Seems like a great bunch of people, I think I will hang around

Welcome BSC. Good choice of carry. My son has one. I am one of those guys that separate hand guns into 3 catagories. Revolvers, 1911's, & other guns. I do ahve some "other guns". That XD-40 is excellent choice in the other guns catagory. He really likes it. I have shot it & like it to. Congrats on the family. I am thankful that my baby is 34 now. Grandones are scattered from 13 to 6. This is a great place to hang around. Be patient & the paper will come then the plastic. Sunday one in our church that I trained got hers either Fri. or Sat. It will come.
Congrats to you too dws. We are all thankful & very blessed that the early ordeal turned out well. Taking it for granted they are both still doing well.
Welcome aboard BSC.

Hello all.

I'm 28y/o male, married with two kids in DFW. I currently work as a medical professional in a large corporation and attend college in the evenings. Before that I worked with a private practice physician and spent 5 1/2 years in the Navy as a FMF Hospital Corpsman. No CHL yet, but I'm gearing up to take the class in the next month or two - even talked the wife into going along. ;-)

I've only been seriously shooting/collecting for about 2 years so my small collection includes:

P232 - wife's gun
P228
P226 NAVY
Mosquito
Remington 870

Welcome, DevilDoc! (Although I do worry about your choice of screen name!)

Good idea getting your wife to take the class with you. I am a BIG advocate on couples taking the class together. That way, you both got exactly the same info at the same time. And, for reasons you will learn in the class, it is important that both of you be licensed.

Again, welcome. We look forward to your input here.
