My left leg for a Springfield Armory 1911 EMP

#1

Post by Longtooths »

The wife finally gave me the go ahead to purchase the 9mm version of the EMP. I just got off the phone with over 20 dealers/gunshops and not one of them have one. I called everyone:

Ray's
Bullet trap
cabela's
D-Ray's
Euless Gun
Gander Mnt.
Gunmasters
Bsguns
Shooters club
Shooters edge

If I didn't know any better, I would think the wife knew everyone was out of stock Grrr.

Man, even if I knew where you could find one, I don't know what I'd do with your left leg!! Maybe if you'd be interested in giving up the right one? :biggrinjester: Seriously though, Try the online sites and see if one could be shipped to your local FFL.

Hey, LT.
There are a couple on Gunbroker.
Do these things really cost $1100-$1200?

Yes they really cost that much, it is a fine little piece.

I live in Irving but have been expanding my buying radius for this gun and I had someone in Canton quote me 1350 one for today. That would be 1461.00 out the door. I passed......still looking up to about 30 shops called now.

I see the ones on gunbroker and that is a fallback plan. I would much rather hold it in my hand and look it over before going online to buy. Juts me.

*** I have decided to up the anti to my left leg and The Annoyed Man's right foot.

Thanks

CAll your friendly local FFL and see what they can get one for.

Last price was $1,018

Give em a call and see when they can get one in stock for ya then pay a FFL 20$ to transfer it. :fire

I have given my CC# to hold one with a local dealer that promises that he will get one by the end of the month. Price will be $1099

Until it is sent from his supplies I have the option to cancel.

SO....Still looking!

Good Luck to ALL..........

I have had one on order thru a Springfield Dealer in IL for exactly 3 Months! He still cannot get a shipping date from Springfield!
I paid 943.00 including shipping, which I believe is an excellent deal. It was on a "Group Buy" by him from Springfield that contained 11 guns:

PW9108LP - $435 - G.I. Parkerized - <SOLD>
PW9151LP - $468 - G.I. Stainless - <SOLD>
PW9142LP - $435 - G.I. Champion Parkerized - <SOLD>
PB9108LP - $512 - Mil-Spec Parkerized - <SOLD>
PB9151LP - $561 - Mil-Spec Stainless - <SOLD>
PI9132LP - $750 - Loaded Stainless - <SOLD>
PI9140LP - $1127 - Trophy Match Stainless - <SOLD>
PI9209LP - $943 - Enhanced Micro Pistol Bi-Tone - <SOLD>
PC9107LP - $1247 - TRP Stainless - <SOLD>
PC9108LP - $1247 - TRP Armory Kote - <SOLD>
AA9626 - $1400 - M1A SOCOM 16 - <SOLD>

These were his "Cost" prices (including shipping). Only 5 Pistols in this list have been received from Springfield and delivered to the buyers since Feb 2nd. I complained to him again yesterday and I got the same story. Springfield will not comment on when the rest will be made/shipped. He offered to return my money, but I said I would wait another Month because I know that the EMP is hard to find anywhere at any cost. Additionally, be careful when/if you find one. Some I have seen advertised come with only one mag, others with 2 and still others with three (which is what they all are supposed to come with).

BTW, when I made this order, Sportingarms had been waiting over 3 Months to receive their order and the Bullet Trap had 3 in Stock at the 1200.00 mark!

If Springfield would make some EMP's they could sell a boatload of them!

LT........you might call Sportingarms. They MAY have one or two by now..........

I was just going to say that sporting arms has them listed on their web page for $1022. I do not know if they have any on hand. Their web site is http://www.sportingarms.com/index.asp. They are great people.

Yep,......that's their standard Web price........
They don't update their web pages very often.
When I called them 3 Months ago that was showing on their webpage but they told me they didn't have any and have been waiting for an order for 3 Months (total 6 Months from today).

Best to make the call if you want to know what they have in stock. Becky is COOL!

Too bad......they are good people......

So, you see that Springfield is either doing this by design or they are just plain stupid!
