Pelican Flashlights and Cases (possible group buy)
I am now a teir 1 (lowest price) distributor for Pelican products. This means I can get any of you guys a smoking hot deal on your Pelican Cases, or Pelican lights.
Pelican is not well know in the law enforcement, military, or tactical community but they are making a solid push to be. They just hired a former US Military Chief if Staff to head up the company, and secured the new flashlight contract for LAPD.
That light in question (Pelican 7060) is a 130 lumen LED dual-switch light. It sales on most websites for $149 plus shipping. I will sell to anyone on the website for $100 plus actual shipping from my location in Louisiana. So no tax. If we get a group buy together I will eat the freight on lights and cases.
http://www.pelican.com has a complete list of everything they sale case and light wise. If your interested say so here. Once we get a few folks together I will work up a list, get pricing, and then post a TX CHL forum price list here. As I stated if we can get enough folks in on it I wil eat the freight from the vendor and then charge the price + actual UPS Shipping from my location to you, and no sales tax.
I can tell from years of using their lights they are right up there with Streamlight, Surefire, etc. I also know nobody better for weapon, computer, equipment, etc cases. When I was in the Army we used Pelican for out top of the line computers exclusively. All the drilling rigs and platforms I service use their lights and they stand up to a lot of torture.

Re: Pelican Flashlights and Cases (possible group buy)
I can vouch for the performance and ruggedness of these lights...As I used them many times crawling around in some very nasty, and hazardous double bottoms of some chemical tankers I used to survey when I worked for the parent company of these tankers...
Some of these are intrinsically safe, meaning they do not pose a risk (OSHA and International standard requirement) for introducing any igniting potential in an environment where that may be a risk...Most "tacticool" lights out there cannot, and I would not trust, to be that safe in ALL environments...
I wouldn't hammer a nail with one, but I sure do appreciate a light out there that is tough, and performs when it has to...
But don't take my word for it...I only have a few around the house here, some in the vehicles...One in my desk at work...And they make great and thoughtful Christmas gifts!!!

Re: Pelican Flashlights and Cases (possible group buy)
Put me on the list. I have been a big fan of Pelican products for a long time. If anyone is looking for a nice LED light that is just about indestructable, check out this one http://www.pelican.com/lights_detail.php?recordID=2010. Ive done everything from diving to 100' underwater, to entering burning buildings with it strapped to my helmet. Its the last flashlight youll ever buy.
I would be interested in cases that can carry an assortment of handguns.

I could be very interested in some of the cases. If this goes to group buy stage, let me know.

Re: Pelican Flashlights and Cases (possible group buy)
I've never used that one, but the M3 Xenon is built like a tank; it took me forever to even start putting wear on the finish, and I'm rough on lights. The belt holster for the M3 is also one of the better ones I've used for any belt-carried accessories - I can wear out a Maglite, Gerber, or Leatherman sheath in less than six months, and I carried the Pelican for nearly a year before CR123 prices forced me over to LED lights. It still lives in the car, close at hand.gregthehand wrote:That light in question (Pelican 7060) is a 130 lumen LED dual-switch light.

Count me in for something, just don't know what yet. I was hoping to find something to put on the front of my Remington 870 with a remote pressure switch, but it doesn't seem to exist.....

Re: Pelican Flashlights and Cases (possible group buy)
Well, I have to correct one misstatement. Pelican cases are well known and used in the LE field. They are very well made.
As for the lights, they are getting a better reputation. We are looking for a new light now for issue purposes, and the 7060 is being field tested for this purpose. My impression of it is very favorable, if you want a plastic (generic term) body flashlight.
