Nice pistol!

Is the boot knife a Smith & Wesson "HRT"? It looks similar to the one I gave my daughter for purse carry. If so, it has a "false edge" that keeps it legal for this state (along with blade length). Small and light.

When sharping, I found it didn't take a really good edge...but its basically a thrusting weapon anyway. I wish they would have made the blade just a tad thicker too. Its a sturdy knife, but a little more weight out front would make it easier to roll over into a reverse grip.

I may get another one, its an excellent knife overall for the price.

Yes, it is a S & W but it is a dagger (sharp on both sides), I really did not realize that it was not legal for carry until after I bought it It just stays locked up in the dang safe

Thanks Q. I will try this at play time. This computer is going to be tied up w/ the wife's work for the next 3 days almost nonstop. We have had company all week. Dumb as dirt on a compuboxscreen. When he went from an old wall hand crank phone to a dial, He said he could understand how he could pick up the ear piece, it would go to the switch board through the wire, they would loop it to the number you asked for & then it would go there. "But I'll be hanged if I can understand how you can dial 4 numbers & it knows where to go." That is exactly how I feel with these things.

This Commander was sent off in January for some Custom work. It seems like it takes forever.

I just finished putting this back together and test firing it (200 times)
All springs, pins and screws are Ed Brown. Les Baer mag catch, Fitted Wilson barrel bushing, old milsurp parkerized long trigger, Colt solid steel hammer and sear. Novak mags and Hogue grips. Oh and the MSH internals are all colt/ed brown.
Trying to keep it very low budget as the majority of the parts I already had in my spare parts bin. The only parts I had to purchase were the pins and springs. Can't decide if I should put sights on it since that would defeat the purpose of keeping cost down.
This baby shoots pretty good even with the GI sights.

It's a Springer. I'm still experimenting with the grips, had at least 4 different sets on it so far. I really want to get my hands on a pair of those black rubber double diamond grips that come stock on some Kimbers. They don't have any logo on them so I think they'd look pretty good.

Jason, you only put a couple mags through it. I think you just need to shoot it more.
The trigger is much better now than it was then too and that makes a big difference.

I'm really torn on the sights though, What to do, what to do.....

Houge makes the double diamond grip panels without the finger grooves. My Springer has been wearing a set for qote a while now. I used the finger grove ones for a while untill I tried the panels without the grooves. They allow for more movement and adjustability of your shooting grip IMO.

I, personally feel that the 1911 is the finest handgun platform on the market. I have shot them most of my life for fun, plinking and even formal competition. They are now my primary concealed carry weapon. Here are my three:

I've used this in my 4 days pistol class and I can only use it on 3 of the days because the front checkering is a bit too much for me. lol.

I tried to be magazine photographer, but failed miserably. Haha.

Simple solution. Go pick up a regular Warrior. I really like them both. There are so many 1911s out there I've been gawking over. The Sig GSR Revolution Nitron with night sights. The Smith and Wesson 1911PD, The Kimber Warrior, and the Ed Brown Special Forces. So many 1911s, so little funds.
