Are these legal car holsters for CHL carry?

I know that a pistol is supposed to be concealed if you've got it with you in your vehicle. Would you say that something like these that go to the side of the seat would be considered concealed?

I'm guessing probably not on this one though:

Installed outboard on the seat as shown in the photo, I would say it fails by not being concealed whenever the door is open.

It might very well work on the inboard side if you have bucket seats.

BTW, this is nothing but a cheap, universal, nylon holster intended to be worn on a belt. They include a strap to secure it to the seat. If you wanted to use this, buy the cheap holster ($10-15) and buy a strap at academy.

I bought one because I love to experiment and Sportsmans Guide has them for less than $20.

I have a bench seat with a fold down console, so inboard carry isn't possible for me.

I might find some way to secure to underside of steering colum.

Edited to add: I would not want the Kingston. The gun is too visible when you aren't seated and in the way when you are.

Thanks for the opinion, Mike. If it's questionable to anyone here I'm sure it would be questionable to a police officer. I should be able to place it inboard on my car, but I like your idea of under the steering column so I'm going to take a look at my car to see if that's feasible.

They would be concealed if you just put a hand towel or a t-shirt over them.

I am thinking of making one out of Kydex that attaches near the ash tray (between it and the steering column) in my truck.

Though I do not care for this way to carry, It would be legal w/ a towel on the seat & draped over the gun. Easy to access & appears to be secure. My dirty work seat covers are made out of old bath towels. Lots of folks have a towel in the seat to set on. Arouses no suspission as far as I can see.

As long as it is below the glass, it's concealed to a "reasonable" person. No "reasonable" person has any business looking inside of your vehicle just like they would have no business looking inside the windows of your home to see what you have on the floor.

I would not count on officers agreeing with you on that.
It can happen here.
