Re: Threat recognition test
I wonder how much reaction time is used trying to decide which key to hit! The "which key" decision is much harder than "pull trigger, or not" decision.

Re: Threat recognition test
I think it's interesting that the creators seem to assume the decision-making is black-and-white. No gun = good guy. Gun = bad guy. Most of the guys looked like members of the Young Democrats Club. And where were the females?Charles L. Cotton wrote:I wonder how much reaction time is used trying to decide which key to hit! They didn't have any in their club...

I understand time may be a concern if we need to press the trigger, but I don't understand their rush to reholster.

The test has no other way of knowing when you made the decision not to shoot.apostate wrote:I understand time may be a concern if we need to press the trigger, but I don't understand their rush to reholster.
I agree it's not an accurate reflection of real life, where you always retain the option to shoot or hold fire.

That's a powerful point that I didn't even consider. It shows how easily humans can be manipulated, even those who feel they are pretty good at spotting propaganda.I think it's interesting that the creators seem to assume the decision-making is black-and-white. No gun = good guy. Gun = bad guy.

I must say that I never even looked at the ethnicity of the person. I just was trying to figure out what was in their hand! I hope no one pulls a coke can on me!

Seems like a cladestine chicago type anti-gun game. Throw in the stats they will unevitably publish that we are all racists. Chicago is one of those towns I choose not to visit.
