Terry Keel in runoff for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals
Terry Keel, the author of HB823 (car carry without CHL) is in a runoff against Judge Holcomb for a place on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Chairman Keel has earned our support and I respectfully request that you vote for Chairman Keel and encourage your family and friends to do likewise.
The runoff election will be on April 11th and this is the only state-wide race on the ballot.
Here is an interesting fact Judge Holcomb doesn't want people to know. Holcomb reaches the mandatory retirement age of 75 in August of 2008, thus his office would be declared vacant at that time, by virtue of the Texas Constitution. In other words, he would be removed from office by operation of law about a year and a half into the six year term, if elected. The Governor would have to appoint the replacement, who would then have to run for an unexpired term in the next election cycle.
Regards,
Chas.

I pulled the lever on Keel...No problem with that...And I am glad he's got a chance to beat this guy...
Question...
Did Judge Holcomb get a lot of support/endorsements from those big county DA's???
If he did, it kinda makes you go hmmmmm...Right Charles???
I better hear everyone of you guys getting out there and voting this time on April 11th...If I gotta open my poll again, I want a line queuing up all day!
Vote! It's cheaper than bullets!
Oh, thats a good one...Better write that one down...

When your 18 and over, but only till your 45 years old...kidding...Its really until you die...But for a democrat, that doesn't matter...Boma wrote:When can we vote? Do we have to register? I'm new to voting. Only voted one time so far for the last presidential election.
Yes you have to register, but I don't think you'll be able to vote in the primary (thats in the can) and run-off this time...
You can certainly go to where they are having any early voting place, and get the registration card now, fill it out, and send it in...
You will certainly be in the book by the time the November election early voting commences...
Check your county party website if they have one...See who your Precinct Chairman is...Getting information is half the battle...

Pathetic...But then again, with all the run off elections I have judged, they are usually a yawn-fest...
When I got to the polling location, I was #8 for the day so far...And that was at 12:15pm yesterday...
