Anybody have a recommendation where one can find a good selection of gun powder in the DFW area? Besides Cabelas. Thanks.

SPS at Beltline and Josey in Addison has powder. I hear the Bass Pro Shop is reintroducing reloading supplies but haven't really looked for powder there.

Bass Pro Shop on IH-30 East near Lake Ray Hubbard does indeed sell powder. The prices appeared to be near retail and most were Hodgdon. I did not notice other reloading supplies, but, that was not why I was in the store. I am a licensed dealer and order powder in bulk so rarely do I purchase any at retail.

Southwest Ammunition Supply Co in Mesquite is where I buy my stuff when not ordering online. They sell powder, primers, bullets and just about anything else reloading related, but no presses.

Last time I got powder at cabella's it was 19.95 per pound. At SW Ammo it is $14 and change. You just cant beat that price.

For mail order, I have had the best results with "Powder Valley"
NRA, TSRA, CCRKBA, SAF, JPFO, Def-Con, GOA and CBA.

Their are also deals to be had at the gun shows.
You can also buy much cheaper if you buy in bulk.
Several months ago, I purchased the AA #2 for $44 (4 pound carton). It's normally around $20 if you just buy one pound.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

I normally buy from Southwest Ammo at the gunshows in Mesquite. Imagine my surprise when they were NOT present at the TSRA Mesquite show. :confused5

Anybody got a website or contact info for SW ammo in Mesquite? I'd like to know their current pricing.

I bought some powder from SW yesterday and they had a good selection although most of the prices were 19-20 bucks a pound, don't matter they had what I wanted. Cabela's is about the same price but I like to give my business to the dealers without the fish aquariums. I also talked with Gander Mountain in Sherman two days ago and they had a 20% sale on powder but the "dude" on the phone wasn't willing to check for the particular powder I was lookin for. SW are nice people.
