While Christmas shopping at Cavenders in Plano, Tx. last year, I was wearing my S & W, MP 9mm compact in a Desantis, owb holster, under a leather sport coat cut, style jacket. After paying and walking out the front door I was putting my billfold in my back pocket when my jacket pulled up and fully displayed my ccw rig. There was a policeman acting as a rent-a cop for store security, watching customers at the front door. He looked right at my pistol, our eyes met, he was cool and didn't say a word. Lesson learned! I'm very careful now about how my coat or shirt is covering my pistol.

Oops!

I had a similar occurrence when getting a tire fixed here in Austin. I was getting out of my van as usual, and apparently my lap belt caught on my untucked work shirt and pulled it behind my pistol. I started to walk up and talk to the attendant there, and I noticed his big eyes looking at my waist area. I looked down, and sure enough - there was my pistol for all the world (well OK, just him) to see. I covered it up and continued my conversation. He seemed a little weirded out at first, but didn't say anything and nothing else came of it. Probably the fact that I was like 3 blocks from the downtown police station combined with my demeanor that everything was normal likely convinced him that I was probably some sort of undercover/off duty LEO or something along those lines.

Thanks for all the thoughtful deliberation...I am certain I am not printing like the LEO in a muscle shirt...just a lump under a loose shirt.

The Blackhawk Speed Classic is great. It is solidly constructed, feels like top grain leather an stitching is top notch. It holds the 642 securely and I have never once been concerned about the weapon coming out while working outside or doing any routine stuff. Access is where it really shines. The forward break is quick and easy...instilling confidence. Re-holstering is also effortless. I am really happy with this holster...it was only 30 some odd dollars and worth every penny and more...highly recommended. Get one, you will love it too.

I carry a P3AT in a DeSantis E-Z Rider most of the times these days. It's comfortable and looks fine with my dress clothes.

I've noticed a few folks taking a second look, but that's about it. I was at the movies the other evening and wound up talking to an off-duty officer working at the theater and even he didn't say anything.
