The law would prohibit doctors, etc., from asking questions about guns in the home. Since the schools are government run, any questions asked by the schools are a government intrusion. I would support the law that would prohibit the government schools from asking about guns in the home.

I would not support such a law aimed at private businesses.

The proposed legislation sounds like a well-intentioned measure to prevent a politically-motivated AMA/CDC from spreading anti-gun propaganda and bias through individual doctors. Instead of wasting energy trying to pass a law of questionable effectiveness, pro-2A organizations on the state and national levels need to continue thwarting and foiling the people who are truly dedicated to their goal of trying to end individual gun ownership (the Brady bunch, state Sen Rod Ellis, Sens Schumer, Feinstein et al, Mayor Bloomberg of NYC, and the organizations they create, endorse and are endorsed by).

Stay focused on these core anti-gun people and organizations, and their major offshoots/reorganizations. They are not going to quit, and neither can we. Anti-lawsuit legislation was very necessary, as is lawful storage in private locked cars and reform of "duty to retreat".

Let's focus on the steak, and not the peas.

When my kid was born and we took her to the doctor's officer for her first visit, there was a question about how many guns were in the home. I put 100+ and counting.

Doc never said anything about it.

We had to go the Tx Childrens once when my daughter cut her head open on a bookcase at daycare. It was right by her eye, so they sent us there to get a plastic surgeon to do the work, etc... The doctor that came in and was sizing up the situation (hot, young, female) was talking to my daughter and my daughter said something about needing her eye to shoot with. The doctor looked at me and I said my daughter and I shoot together and I shoot competions.

Then my wife says to the doc, "He's a police officer." The doc said, "Oooohhh, that makes sense then."

I was so mad at my wife. I told her she should call Senator Lautneburg (sp?) and thank him for his amendment (JUST A JOKE BY THE WAY!!!) Seriously though, I told her we never have to make excuses why we shoot or carry, no reason to be ashamed of it.

I was actually amazed (yes amazed!) that you missed this so badly. For all of your joking around, etc. you nearly always get things right. I hereby rescind my invocation of G. Boole, the father of modern logic, AND will endeavour to withhold critiques, OR at least allow an opportunity for the target to make their own amends regarding any future occurrences of logical breakdowns; or NOT.

nice. i wonder what they would say to my daughters who likely know more about guns and gun safety than the person asking the questions?

my 4 year old has been begging me to get her a scope for her rifle as a birthday present.

Chris, my daughter said the same thing. She's 5 and said she would like shooting her rifle more if I got her a scope. (Have you ever tried to teach police officers how to use peep sights, much less a 5 year old )

She said she wants one like on my "police rifle". An EOTech . At least the kid has good taste.
