I'm not sure what relevance that has to the question. It sure sounds like you haven't read the law.

The relevance is that we are in a sanctuary city supported by White, and our governor is no better. If our police are not allowed to question them on immigration status, how can they know if the person carrying is illegal?

It is a crime for an illegal alien to be in the country. It is a crime for an illegal alien to acquire or possess a firearm. Would an illegal alien obey a state law that says he can't carry a handgun? Of course not. So you are going to have illegal aliens carrying handguns regardless of what the law says.

Tailoring a law to allow the police to arrest some criminals while violating the rights of law-abiding people is exactly the thinking of all "gun control" advocates. You're just drawing a line in a slightly different place.

This issue is anyway. The bill has been passed and signed into law. It isn't going to change.

Am I the only one who is slighty concerned about anyone being able to carry in car?

Unlicensed car carry is legal in plenty of other states, where there's no problems with it. So unless you believe Texans are inferior to residents of other states, then you don't have much to worry about.

I know most have qualified on the range and can properly handle a weapon.
What scares me are the people who used to be armed at home, never been to the range, and do not know how to safely handle a weapon the weapon 18 inches from them. Am I the only one?

The level of proficiency that the CHL test requires is so minimal the fact that someone has passed the test isn't a very good indication at all that that they'll have the ability to be safe with their gun in the real world. Not that I think the test is too lax, I just think it should be eliminated as it's pretty worthless IMO.

Yeah, it was the brandishing part that was illegal. Anyways, as I said, I'm dropping it since there is nothing I can presently do and my wife did not get the license plate.

Well, I'm often wrong. I thought it was illegal to brandish in the car.

To keep it short, I was not there. My wife and kid were in the drive-thru at Arbys in Missouri city. A car pulled up 6 feet or so on her right, and 2 guys jumped out and went after a man walking behind the Arbys. My wife claims to have seen a handgun that the driver was handling in his mustang. The 2 males outside the car began beating the other man. I'm glad she did not attempt to get a plate # or delay in any way as she burned rubber out of there, and called police on the cell. The men were not apprehended. The 2 aggressors were dressed in "gang" style according to my wife. Obviously, this was very concerning to me. I have not yet convinced my wife to pursue a CHL.

I get the impression from a few instructors that they don't like the law either. I think they worry less people will get a CHL since they can now carry in their car.
