Free Advanced training

#1

Post by Bill »

Yep, that's right. How about a group of Men and Ladies that have gone through advanced training from reputable schools to study and train together. I personally can not afford 400.00 month for training but would like to have a monthly class to train with others. If we could get Phil at Impact zone to work a nominal fee for those who are not members. Just thinking a out-loud. Anyone interested.

I'm definitely interested. I could probably make it out there once every couple months. What kind of training? Full ECQC, Pistol, etc? That sounds great!!! I'm thinking about ordering a few videos...a little cheaper than taking the full course but if we had a few people to train with it would be worth while, agreed? What videos are pretty good?

Hey Jeremy, it would depends on what everyone wants to do but you would have to have advanced training for each discipline. We could use any and all scenarios we can conjure as long as they can be made safe. I really liked this one because you are just about beat and still have to fight
I think we could have gone for one minute but

maybe 3-4 of the group can come up with the training

PLEASE have someone who will not be participating in the training act as a safety officer.

Yup,

And be prepared to sign a waiver every time you participate.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

for those who are interested please email me and I will start a list, I have about 4-5 so far.
I would also like to do FOF, so if you have your favorite carry pistol in airsoft that would be great

Training around Houston I would be interested in. My wife might even join in the fun as I bought her a Bersa 380 and she is becoming avid.

This is definitely a good idea.

I have been trying to save for a Tiger Valley pistol 1 and carbine 1 class but with gas and ammo being so high I haven't been able to swing it with life responsibilities coming first.

It amazes me that a city the size of Houston can't get some real training in here to one of these ranges so we shooter's don't have to drop a grand to go get some training up in Waco or the Dallas metroplex or to Nacodoches!

I've tried talking to the "RUDE" guy over at the clear creek range on 646/1266 but he is a real...well anyway... and won't budge on bringing in a trainer even if we can pre register with down payment's and range rental fee's. One training team I talked to even said the host can train for free with them for use of the facilities! He's to arrogant to budge though, it's ridiculous.

Something really need's to come of this, look at the ranges that could host something of this nature: ASC (which I don't feel will go for it) and PSC is the ideal place because it is awesome and has the facilities to handle a pistol1(we can draw from holster!) and carbine 1 class (long distance and movement with obstacles!).

Mr. Cotton or someone else with clout at a local range LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN! :cheers2: :txflag:

This doesn't even have to be a free session just LOCAL or close enuff to get to with out killing the family budget!

Bill was suggesting free advanced training, not bringing in outside trainers. PSC's rules would prohibit commercial trainers from using the facility for any classes, unless they want to offer the classes for free and that's not going to happen!

acknowledged and understood.

I guess it's back to the drawing board as far as training goes.

Give Phil Oxley of the Impact Zone a call at 832-274-8549.

He's a good guy to work with. We have our monthly matches out there and I know that his range has hosted several trainers from around the country.
