Why does DPS require these to be answered?
I went to this site: http://www.txchia.org/cr-80.pdf Now my question: When I tell DPS my dl number, name and address, why is it necessary for them to ask on this form my sex, my height, my weight and what race I am (why do they care if I'm Asian, black, white, multi-racial)?

What if someone were trying to get a CHL under false ID (your DL #)?

They need to make it YOU and not someone else with the same name. The more info the better.

To identify you. Contrary to the left's stripping of common sense, your race is part of your identification.
They will do a criminal background check.

In addition to what has been stated already, I believe its also done for statistical purposes.
