i understand its common practice, but what difference does it make? Maybe I'm missing something but it just sounds like undue paranoia.

My pal works the gun counter at Cabela's in Buda and said those were THE hot sellers for Christmas. Places like McBride's, Sportsman's Finest, and even Academy have the Sigma listed anywhere from $300 - $365, while Cabela's was pushing it for $249.99.
Got mine at Academy for $299, S & W has a deal, if you buy one get 2 free magazines and a $50 rebate.

wife refused to buy me anything firearms related since I've spent so much on it myself lately. Mother-in-law did get me a set of new electronic range muffs though.

"Hey... that's my gun that was stolen.... I've got the serial number right here!" That's why it's common practice to obscure serial numbers.

Ruger MKIII target pistol. Red dot scope on the way, as well as spotting scope. I've been working on carving an anatomical grip, and ammo testing.

Anyone with preferences for .22 match grade ammo, I'd appreciate advice.

It does? I may just be too skeptical, but that sounds like a *really* far fetched scenario to me. If it's being pulled off though, I'd be interested in reading the details of exactly what the stories are, if anybody has links handy.

Not near as nice as some of you, but I did receive a $25 Carter's Country gift certificate from My sister in law. The best part of it is that my SIL hates guns because of an accident with one may moons ago and her parents are flaming liberals. :patriot:
