Newbie here! Anyone from Grayson County? By all of the posts here, looks like I'm in for a long wait. 12 days and counting

On 10/22 went from "packet sent to applicant" to "processing application". So the way it sounds, I still have another month to go. sigh..

Well today is 60 days from the day my check cleared and the website still shows processing application. Is now a good time to give them a call? I am planning on calling Monday morning. I have read here that some people have gotten license while the site still shows processing and was wondering if there is a certain day that DPS mails licenses. I hope I get it before the holidays.

Just called DPS and they said they were still waiting on a background check. I mentioned that I have heard that Travis County is pretty slow and the lady agreed. She didn't come out and say it was Travis county they were waiting on but when I said they have dropped the ball again she agreed. Looks like I won't be getting my Christmas present till after new years at this rate.

Well it looks like I am the current senior member of the waiting room. I don't know what the holdup on my background check is. With the exception of a minor in possesion ticket back in 84 or 85, I have never had anything worse than a traffic ticket. I haven't even had one of them in 6 or 7 years. Travis county must not like the CHL laws. I guess I will give DPS another call on the 26th which will be 71 days since they received my app. :confused5

Yeah DPS informed me that since I have a previous arrest, they will probably be using the full 90 days to perform an extra thorough backgorund check.
