Not all police officers are shooters and there are many who do not know anything outside of their issued handgun. I personally know a young man that graduated the Academy 16 years ago and he has yet learned another platform other than his Glock.

I personally think it is a dangerous move to have Officers disarming citizens for simple traffic violations. I do not want a 22 year old rookie who barely can operate his Glock or Sig P320 upholstering my 1911.

Agreed, and I fear that the officers least skilled at handling a gun are the ones most likely to want others disarmed.
