There's no evidence of that. He retired in 2005 after 24 years of service which seems normal to me. He did deploy with his unit post 9/11 to Europe, you go where they send you.

He did serve as a CSM, but had to retire as a Master Sergeant because he never completed the Sergeants Major Academy. His claiming otherwise is troubling.
