Lately 1 out of 3 packages make side trips somewhere else before getting to my place. Mail to my house routes thru Ft. Worth and on to me 165 miles away. Most side trips leave Ft. Worth at 9:30 pm on the way to who knows where before going back to Ft. Worth and then to me. It shows to be in transit but no longer shows what town or towns it has visited before coming to me. When delivery is right mail and packages leave there around 3:30 am and make it to my house sometime that morning.
One package left Abilene and saw Ft. Worth 4 times with 3 separate other towns in between Ft. Worth returns before getting to me. They are losing money each year but paying big bonuses to regional Postmasters each year. Have kinfolks who supposedly was injured on job (knee surgery) with them and has been drawing comp (unable to perform job) for 9 years. She was able to buy $350,000 house in that time and go and do whatever she wanted to. She did not have the money to do anything before injury. She has reached early retirement age now and is going off comp and being retired with full benefits while not working a single day in last nine years.
USPS needs an overhaul but I fear it will only get worse.

Guy I trust mailed a check to me from Lewisville (next town over) on Feb. 11. Still have not received. Similar has happened before and it eventually arrived in plastic bag and damage to envelope. I mailed a drawing from Flower Mound on Saturday to a banner making outfit in California. They got it and e-mailed me a proof on Tuesday. Go figure.

The saga continues. I ordered product from a company in Sienna, TX to be shipped to me in Arlington, TX. Package started its travels in Missouri City, TX. Currently the package is in Jacksonville, FL. :banghead:

Another package from Amazon was shipped from their warehouse in Florida, arrived in Dallas within 12 hours, transferred to USPS on Wednesday and USPS can't get it the last 40 miles until tomorrow. :banghead:

Ordered hearing aid parts from Canada. Once they cleared customs in Chicago they went to USPS for delivery. Onward to Wisconsin, Dallas, Ft. Worth and back to Wisconsin. Back to Dallas, FT. Worth and off to somewhere not named before delivered to me 2 days later which was a Thursday.
All these bonuses the USPS bigshots get each year needs to go to improving their delivery system.

The package that went from Houston to Jacksonville FL finally arrived in Dallas at 1:30 this morning, then arrived in Ft. Worth at 2:45am.
It then arrived in Houston at 2:30 this afternoon.
It’s not a postal/shipping service….its a comedy routine.

They do pretty good with envelopes.

NOT EVEN WITH ENVELOPES! I mailed a check to a scholarship recipient for a program I work with on Wednesday June 5. I did NOT put it out at the house or drop it in the drive through box at the post office. I took it in and handed it to the clerk. As of yesterday (no mail today), 18 June, it has not been delivered. This is NOT going far, the distance between my post office and the recipient's house is less than 10 miles. If it has not been received by this Saturday (17 days after being mailed) I will have to stop payment and get another check from our treasurer. The kid needs the $2,500 to register for classes.

Illinois Trucking Company With 480 Drivers Abruptly Ceases Operations
https://www.freightwaves.com/news/illin ... operations
An Illinois-based trucking and logistics company, which contracted with the U.S. Postal Service to haul mail has notified over 650 employees, including more than 480 drivers, that the carrier is ceasing operations, according to sources familiar with the closure.
Don't count on USPS being able to immediately replace all the mail hauled by this company.

The USPS is apparently so bad they don't know my address is in Pasadena, Texas, not Detroit, Michigan. From San Jose, CA to Houston and then on to Detroit. It's no wonder mail is late. They spend time and money wastefully. I'd say their actions doubled the cost of delivery.
My informed delivery notified me:
