Washington Post says FBI improperly used FISA information database against US citizens.

May make it harder for Congress to reapprove the act when it comes up for renewal next year. Do you think?

I believe there's no one in either party in Washington that has the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing, or at least submit to the limits of the Constitution. It's going to take strong leaders who don't care about the repercussions against them by the security state (which needs to be dismantled).

Finally, some tangible action against the extremists:

Rep. Luna: Republicans Are Looking into Eliminating the FBI Director’s Position
“But what we can do as Congress is officially defund the director’s position, and that’s something we’re also looking at doing, via the Holman rule,” she said. “That means we’ve effectively eliminated his salary, and thus, his position, yes.”

The Holman Rule allows amendments to appropriations legislation that would reduce the salary of or fire specific federal employees, or cut a specific program, according to Federal News Network.

It seems the public has identified the extremists:
In May, the Harvard Caps Harris Poll revealed that a whopping 70 percent of registered voters, “are very concerned about future interference by the FBI and intelligence agencies in elections.” The poll also indicated that 69 percent of respondents were not surprised the FBI violated its own policy to start the Russian collusion probe.

NYP: FBI facilitated social media ‘takedown requests’ made by Ukrainian spy agency

FBI Colluded With Ukraine in Social Media Crackdown – Lawmakers
As a result, the two agencies “flagged for social media companies the authentic accounts of Americans, including a verified US State Department account and those belonging to American journalists,” and requested that those pages be deleted, the document read.

The legacy media haven't had independence from the government for a very long time:

THE CIA AND THE MEDIA (1977)
The use of journalists has been among the most productive means of intelligence‑gathering employed by the CIA.
Among the executives who lent their cooperation to the Agency were Williarn Paley of the Columbia Broadcasting System, Henry Luce of Tirne Inc., Arthur Hays Sulzberger of the New York Times, Barry Bingham Sr. of the LouisviIle Courier‑Journal, and James Copley of the Copley News Service. Other organizations which cooperated with the CIA include the American Broadcasting Company, the National Broadcasting Company, the Associated Press, United Press International, Reuters, Hearst Newspapers, Scripps‑Howard, Newsweek magazine, the Mutual Broadcasting System, the Miami Herald and the old Saturday Evening Post and New York Herald‑Tribune.

By far the most valuable of these associations, according to CIA officials, have been with the New York Times, CBS and Time Inc.
William Colby exclaimed at one point to the Church committee’s investigators. “Let’s go to the managements. They were witting.

It seems the Justice Department is more interested in censorship and propaganda than justice:

The princelings of gov't don't like it when the camera is pointed at them!

What's happening: A proposal to give federal lawmakers the legal right to scrub personal info about them and their family members from the internet is facing resistance from pro-transparency groups, who fear that the measure could interfere with watchdog journalism.

Details: Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who are offering the legislation as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, contend the protections are needed as federal officials and their families face an onslaught of threats to their personal safety from disgruntled constituents and others.

Klobuchar's take: Speaking to a federal judges conference in Minnesota Friday, Klobuchar touted the legislation as a logical extension of a bill Congress passed late last year giving judges the right to take down personal details like home addresses and employers of family members.
Back in the days when the White House literally was "The People's House", random strangers could just drop by and visit the president. Over time, presidents angered enough people that it was no longer safe for that to be permitted. Now, it's the turn of senators and representatives, who have ticked off enough people that they're now frightened for their personal safety.

Here's a suggestion for politicians: "QUIT. USING. THE. OFFICE. TO. GUT. THE. CONSTITUTION!!! I say "THE office", because it's not YOUR office! If we had term limits, congress critters wouldn't have to be so scared of their constituents.
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

Found some more extremists:

'The Perfect Crime': Tech Companies Are Manipulating Our Elections And Indoctrinating Our Children — How We Can Stop Them
Consider this: The GOP currently has a slim 10-seat majority in the House of Representatives. Without Google's interference in 2022, it would likely now have a majority of between 27 and 59 seats.

The 2022 midterm elections that gave the Democrats a two-vote majority in the U.S. Senate had quite a bit of help from Google, and, to a lesser extent, from a couple of other major tech companies.

If Google had not interfered in the 2022 midterm elections, the GOP would likely have ended up with a Senate majority of up to eight seats.

The Big Tech companies that exploded into existence over the past 20 years -- as some of their prominent insiders have stated – have undermined our democracy, indoctrinated our children, and increasingly turned our freedom into an illusion.
