Agreed. Either that or someone needs to accidentally cut the phone line from Jerry Jones owners box down to the coaches.
Mike McCarthy is known to "go for it" in questionable situations. When it pays off, he is a hero but when it doesn't, he becomes an instant zero. That had to be the dumbest call I have ever seen. Since the last 20 dumb calls McCarthy has made. But!!!!! The Cowboys defense and offense blew it in the fourth quarter. It isn't all on one bad play call by McCarthy. The whole team played bad football when it counted the most.
I agree other than I don’t think you throw away points to “go for it.” I am absolutely no football expert, but I think my grandson could have figured that out. Those two interceptions are hard to watch. It also appears their defense is not playing as well as they did.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:12 pmMike McCarthy is known to "go for it" in questionable situations. I am not going to correct you my friend because I don’t know. I would think you would take the three and count on the defense stopping them. Then again they were not playing their best either.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:28 pmcarlson1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:25 pmI agree other than I don’t think you throw away points to “go for it.” I am absolutely no football expert, but I think my grandson could have figured that out. If I am not mistaken, had the Cowboys only scored a field goal, Greenbay would get the next possession to have a shot at come back. When the team that has first possession only scores three points, the other team gets one possession to make it back. After that, first score wins. I believe that is how it works these days. Correct me if I am wrong.
I believe those are the newer rules. I remember the days of first score wins in OT. It almost made the coin toss the deciding factor. I think that is why they changed them but like you, I am brain damaged when it comes to sports. Not in a Joe Biden way but at a handicap just the same...LOL. I was thinking it was why McCarthy went for the TD move. He was worried about Greenbay getting the ball back if we only scored a field goal.carlson1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:42 pmI am not going to correct you my friend because I don’t know. I always thought I would HATE to be a NFL Referee.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:28 pmcarlson1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 11:25 pmI agree other than I don’t think you throw away points to “go for it.” I am absolutely no football expert, but I think my grandson could have figured that out.
