Application Packages

Is anyone else having trouble getting packages from the DPS?

I ordered certificates and packages 3 weeks ago - received the certs but not the packages. Called DPS and they said they were "a little short" on packages and would mail them soon. Still waiting...

How many you need? I have boxes of them.

I ordered 11/22 and thought they were slow to get here, I just ordered again 1/19 so I may be in the same boat you are.
I do have a lot of extras that I have gained from the renewals having theirs when they come to class, I made the mistake of not asking for packets (60) on one order because I had so many extras, I won't do that again, we may need them.

txinvestigator - I need 20 for my Saturday class. If you can spare them and are willing to let me borrow, I would be most appreciative. That is, unless DPS actually comes through for me in the next day or two.

+1 all the way around.

We had some long delays in getting certs in November/December.
A lot of the problem has been in the DPS mailroom and processing the payments. Or at least that's what the CHLS tells us.

And it's always good to stockpile packets (unless they completely fill up a small room) !

Still no packages from DPS, and I am working down in Comanche today. I am going to send my hubby over to DFW to beg you for some packages. He will be the really, really tall dude with the Yosemite Sam mustache. Trust me, you will know what I mean when you see him.

I ordered mine on January 3, and they finally arrived today. The thought was that maybe they would have the updated packets soon, so I waited to order. Never again! I will make sure I keep a good supply from now on. Oh, and even after the wait, they still are not updated packets.

Good luck to you on getting yours.

I ordered mine online on the 17th or 18th, and got the certificates today. Packets will no doubt arrive by the 4th of July...............

I received certificates today. YAAAAY!

But - no packages. And a nice note from DPS stating that packages are provided to instructors as a courtesy only. Students should be encouraged to apply online and pay with a credit card.

Again... they could have mentioned this UP FRONT!

OK I'm done ranting... for today, anyways. Thank you.

Received the packets from the January order on April 6. Opened the box to check the number of packet, but didn't open any packets until class on April 8.

Guess what? The packets were renewal packets, with only one FP card, no application form, and the law book was the out-of-date edition. Needless to say, no one was happy.

DPS promised to mail the packets immediately when I called them on Mon., Apr 10. Packets finally arrived on April 21.

DPS's organizational chaos makes us all look bad.

That's good to hear!

I've been ordering 10 or 20 certs. at a time just to be sure that I have plenty. But ... they are so far behind in catching up to me with the packets, that I've lost count of how many should be coming!

Thankfully, most of my students lately have been renewals ...
