Got bit by a snake today...

#1

Post by PUCKER »

:txflag: but it was non-venomous...it leaves a hard, heavy bite, the Colt Anaconda 6" .44 Magnum Revolver :biggrinjester: :cheers2:

Looking forward to some range time, soon! Now to get some ammo...and a holster...so - do I go the BBQ gun route with a Western-style rig??? Or a more modern holster? I'll be OWB just due to the size, I might "try" to cover it with a longer shirt but that'll probably not be happening...so I guess it's open carry... :tiphat:

Sweet!

I think I'd go with a modern holster, if it were me. That beauty will stand out enough all on its own.

Love it. I’d like a 5” version myself someday.

I have 2 S&W N-frame revolvers, both 5”. One is a .357, the other a .44 mag. The holster I bought, which fits both guns, is this one: https://www.galcogunleather.com/phoenix ... ?filters=1

It’s not cheap ($169.00), but it’s extremely well made, and I like mine a lot. I believe that AndyC has the same holster, sized to fit his Cuger .357, and he has been satisfied with his. I would imagine they make one to fit a 6” Anaconda. There’s certainly no harm in giving them a call to find out.

That's a REALLY nice holster and thank you - I checked on it though...it fits the Colt .357 family (Python, Cobra, etc) but not the .44 Magnum. All that Galco has available for the Anaconda is this one and I think it's hideous (to me)...plus, I don't like the thumb strap (it appears to be completely opposite of where yours is at, seems counter-intuitive). :tiphat:

I was going to also suggest El Paso Saddlery too. They make some nice holsters. I particularly like this one: https://epsaddlery.com/product/2-thumbr ... 8-barrels/

I don’t know of it would fit your Colt, but it might be worth checking it out.

The .44 special/mag is one of the easiest rounds to reload! It was the first round I reloaded back in 1982. Buying ammo for the darn thing is actually very hard to do.
