Thunberg complained to China that they need to stop using chopsticks, because they have to cut down too many trees to make them.

The Chinese replied that chopsticks are made of bamboo, not wood, and that she needs to stop using toilet paper it comes from trees!!!

FWIW.... I've spent well over a year in China, Japan, Taiwan and other places in Asia (total). I am regarded as a "native" with chopsticks...
Chopsticks there are almost always plastic. 1.5 billion people using wood (or bamboo) chopsticks is not sustainable.

You obviously are not aware of the speed of growth of Bamboo in tropical climates.

We bought a house in Florida where someone had planted bamboo. At one point I thought we were going to have to abandon the place and nuke it from orbit.
