2 Grizzly bears attacked after being drawn to the sent of a bow killed Elk.

Empty canister of bear spray found near his body. At some point the magazine was ejected from the 10mm Glock.

Interesting.

This shows that one of the justifications for Israeli carry is good for safety... as when someone takes your sidearm, they need to rack it to make it work... but in this case it clearly backfired.

The proper sidearm when hunting in grizzly bear territory isn’t a 10 mm glock. I carry a .357 Blackhawk when hunting in feral hog territory.

My personal choice would be a 10 gauge shotgun(zero choke) loaded with alternating slugs and 000 buckshot and a .44 magnum or 454 Casull for backup.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

IMHO, nothing less than a 44 magnum. Even with that the bear could still be on and kill you before it dies.

.357 for pigs. If I was in bear country my preference would be along the lines of what you posted.
