Re: Kenosha Wisconsin Shooter discussion
On the stand, Kyle said that he went to Kenosha to help defend where his father lives. While I can agree with not wanting to be someplace where I know that a gun fight in which I would otherwise have no involvement would breakout, it becomes a more difficult question when family and family property are involved. I've not yet accepted that, as the LAPD recommends, I should just hand over to looters and robbers whatever they want. Whether I would personally have gone to Kenosha if I had family there is a question that is difficult for me to answer. I also have a lot more years of experience than Rittenhouse had a 17. I remember doing some foolish things at that age. Foolish is a lot different than illegal.tomneal wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 8:00 am First let me repeat:
If I thought there was going to be a gun fight, I just wouldn't go.
I think a part of this prosecution is to discourage regular folks, every where, from defending themselves.
I watched parts of the trial. The defense closing arguments were a good summary of the case. Including video. The only mistake I saw from KR was being at the wrong place at the wrong time and getting separated from his buddies. Every shot he took, was defending himself from great bodily harm or death.
Unlike the jurors in this trial,
I have never been in a bar fight.
I have never doubted the legal precedent that this case could set. If the argument that being armed is automatically provocative enough to wave our right to self defense, as the prosecution is claiming, then all self-defense laws across the country are in jeopardy. It is particularly bad for those of us of advanced years who could not hold our own in a fist fight with a much younger person to hear that Rittenhouse "brought a gun to a fist fight." This case is much larger than just one young boy.

Based on Binger's words own words, he could have been shot in self-defense when he pointed the rifle at the jury.

Re: Kenosha Wisconsin Shooter discussion
I'm one of those who thinks that Rittenhouse was unwise to be there. But I can't fault him because I think he did care for his community (yes it is his community despite the media lies). It's sad that a 17 year old (and the others) thought it necessary to step up and stop the destruction since the City and State decided to let the rioters destroy property the previous nights. The adults in charge and the adults in the community should have been the ones to step up.
That said, his being there as a legal argument is akin to accusing a rape victim of being at fault for her attack because she was in a dangerous place and should have known better.
I agree with many conservative commentators that what's on trial is the 2nd Amendment, the right of self defense, and that scary black rifle - that happens to be the most popular rifle in America. The left in the form of fascism and socialism is going hard after our freedoms in order to control us. We're the target. What is standing in their way is the Bill of Rights - especially the 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendments.

What I wouldn't have given to have seen the bailiff draw down on him when he did that and start shouting "Drop the weapon! Drop the weapon!"

I’d laugh pretty hard if that happened, but I’m not entirely sure it’s the interpretation of the law that we want… seems like it might be abused to go after people who don’t deserve it. I’m totally open to having my mind changed on the matter, though.Paladin wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:08 amCan he be prosecuted for assault?philip964 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:06 am https://nypost.com/2021/11/15/strange-m ... use-trial/

Rittenhouse-Lying Media Deliberately Incite Riots in Democrat-run Cities
The Democrats who live in these cities are literally empowering the very monsters seeking to destroy their communities.
Sad, but still fascinating to witness.
The good news is that this is all the fake media’s got anymore. All they can do to feel influential is scream “FIRE” in a crowded theater. My guess is that pretty soon, they won’t even be able to do that.

I ran from a bar that had a fight breaking out. Got on my bike and was down the road before you could say spit. Don't know how it turned out. I went in thinking it looked like a nice place to met other Harley riders. Guess not. Careful where you stop when on a lone road trip.tomneal wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 8:00 am First let me repeat:

Beating a dead horse but, Prosecutor may have committed a misdemeanor.
Shows which lady he pointed the rifle at.
Idiot post says but it wasn’t loaded. Ask Alec about that as well.
