Careful how you donate money.

People who donated to Kyle Rittenhouse are being outed.

Story makes it out like Kyle killed a protected class.

Hopefully the officer will be re-instated with backpay.

Criminals bosses protect their own. And Kyle killed some horrible criminals. The Crime bosses clearly want to make an example out of Kyle... here's to Kyle's total vindication!!!

From what I have seen, there may be just a little more to this story than just his donating to Rittenhouse's defense fund. From some of the stories in the police forums, it seems like he made the donation using city equipment and his city email address. If true, this is part of how the chief can claim (and make it stick) that he gave the impression the department felt that way also. Was he fired for making the donation (well, for the publicity that surrounded it) of for violating his agency policy on use of city equipment, etc.? I think he was fired for the donation and the publicity it caused, but I also think he might have made the donation in a way that makes the firing legal.

Even if he did it on his own computer and with his own email, if he publicly identified himself as a lieutenant with that department (such as in his Faceboook profile) he probably violated his agency policies and opened himself to this kind of problem. Many police departments (if not all) have very strict social media policies on the members and their personal time. Courts have upheld these policies because of the very reason the chief cited - public trust in the department.

This case has me riveted because I was watching it unfold live on social media when it happened. Some quotes from thepostmillenial.com article:

At a pretrial hearing on Tuesday, a use-of-force expert stated that Kyle Rittenhouse's actions during the riots in Kenosha, Wisc., in August 2020 were justified. Rittenhouse shot three men during that rioting,

Expert John Black testified that video shows Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse before reaching for the defendant's gun, Huber attacking Rittenhouse with his skateboard and attempting to wrestle away the gun, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was injured, running at Rittenhouse armed with a pistol, according to WQAD 8.

"A citizen in that position, given those indicators, would it be reasonable for them to believe they were about to be assaulted?" Black stated. "I would argue yes."

Black stated that Rittenhouse had maintained control of his rifle and didn't just randomly shoot into the crowd with bullets.

Good news for sure.

A rapidly anti-gun co-worker of mine is retiring at the end of this year and for personal reasons I hope this is all finished before then so I can rub this in her nose. She was all over this when it happened and ya'll can guess her opinions.

BREAKING: Judge rules mob members shot by Kyle Rittenhouse cannot be called 'victims' in court

A Wisconsin judge ruled that Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense team will be allowed to refer to the teen’s shooting victims as "rioters," "looters," or "arsonists" during the upcoming trial.

Robert Barnes, who is a part of Rittenhouse's defense team, cohosts a weekly live stream (Sundays) on the youtube channel Viva Frei. As I understand it Barnes role is more to handle PR and advise, so you can often get an idea of how the defense is reacting to things from the Viva Frei channel. Although I also suspect that he may feed disinformation as well. His various statements and reactions to the state's behaviour regarding the use of force expert witnesses is interesting.

She’ll tell you the same thing she probably told you after the Heller and McDonald rulings: "the court got it wrong". They just love Love, LOVE the courts, until the court decides they’re wrong.

Yeah, I'm sure she would, but didn't we do the same thing with the whole ACA is a tax ruling even though the government lawyer argued it wasn't a tax? I still think Roberts was wrong on that one.

Attorney Andrew Branca discusses the pre-trial hearing.
Today I’d like to share with you my perspective on the most recent pre-trial hearing for the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. That hearing took place this last Monday, October 25, and lasted about two and half hours. As the headline to today’s contents suggest, the hearing was a very good day for the defense—with one glaring exception—and yet another poor day for the prosecution.
