i will preface this with i am deaf as a stump on one side and have a very LOUD doorbell.
this morning around 824 i wake up to hear a back up alarm like on a large truck. I roll over and go back to sleep for about 5 minutes, but my dogs are smacking me with their paws to say something is amiss.
so meander to the side door and let the pups out, when all of the sudden i see the front gate wide open and then hear GROWLS and lots of I will eat you barking. so i quickly go around the side of the house to see what they are about to eat, there are 3 strangers, one has a long hose stuck in my lift station for the sewer and two standing there like they are frozen. i call my pups back and they run off to pee.
so i say in my best language what the heck are you doing in my yard and why is my ground dug up and why is my fence taken down?
the large guy with the hose said we are replacing your lift station tanks...I said why?
they work and i dont have a trouble call. and then i say again, who the let you in my yard? the big one says he knocked..
so i said..me not answering somehow gives you permission to trespass and destroy property??? . now my pups run back over to my side , and take up the "let me strike" stance. I tell these 3 men get out and off my property now, before it gets bad. the big guy says let me make a call. so he calls the supervisor out here on site and tells him mr sloane is ticked off, 
you bet i am MAD, MAD . so i let my pups escort them to the front drive . a few minutes go by and the water company guy arrives to figure out how this morning went sideways.
i asked why was i not notified, called or left a note on my door or HEY how about a water company guy actually knocking on the door or...ring the door bell.
he apologizes and explains the company is replacing all the legacy concrete tanks and it should take about 4 hrs...and by the way no using toilet as the pipe is cut to remove the tanks. great..... i just woke up and hmmm the train is leaving the station.
so at a qtr after 2 pm they finish half way burring the tank and new plumbing and start on the fence... after another hr they have destroyed my fence trying to put it back. i had this fence stretched tight and attached very securely top and bottom, so these plumbers use the back hoe to stretch the fence and now it looks like a city bus went through it.
so now i am left with a 3 foot wide several feet deep hole, and a fence that is in shambles. oh let the calls begin again in the morning.
