In the past Aboriginal babies were forcibly taken from their mothers to be raised in Caucasian families to try and break their Aboriginal culture.

I recently watched The Tracker. Not as good a movie as Rabbit Proof Fence but a a look back at historical Australian perspective.

Contact is really interesting. It's a documentary that has a cool story and video / pictures of the first interactions with whites and a group of aboriginies (1964). There are some interviews with the younger ones later as adults telling their side of the events.

From what I've seen the rates of the disease are low over there, but living in a prison camp isn't a life and like every other isolated place in the world, disease will hit them hard if and when they ever open up.

Having the Constitution means nothing, what matters is how are you going to protect and enforce your unalienable rights. It looks to be time for our Australian friends to follow the lead of our founding fathers. Sadly, it looks to be that time for us in the US too.
