I felt like owning something that came from off this world, so I ordered this offa eBay:
Nickel-iron with olivine crystals, categorized as a "pallasite". This slice comes from a fragment of the "Sericho" meteorite that landed in Kenya:

Re: Meteorite
pretty neat
i have video from my home security cameras of the meteor and its friend from last month buzzing our house rattling windows right before it landed about 60 or so miles north of us shook the whole house, sounded like a bomb or a something blew up
but an actual object is killer

Re: Meteorite
I’ve got a small nickel/iron meteorite on a mount that I bought from a science memorabilia store in Coco Beach, Florida.

Re: Meteorite
I would love to find one. Antarctica is supposedly the best spot to find one or a big desert. Those two spots or after a know siting of one coming down.
My understanding one from Mars is worth a fortune. (think about that for a second)
It would be very cool to have one. I've seen them at rock shows, but way too pricey for me. I'll have to be satisfied with my mosquito in a piece of amber.

Re: Meteorite
Man. Whew. From the one-word topic title, I thought on top of everything else we were going to be hit with one of those aircraft-carrier sized meteorites.
But that's a really cool looking conversation piece!
