Revolvers
As an Instructor I always carried a semi-auto. 1911 most of the time. Virtually all my students wanted training w/ a semi.
After retirement I have enjoyed going back to my roots. Daily carry is a revolver. Ruger GP100, 3" barrel.
Yes I do know all the arguments about round count and speed of reload.
I carry 2 SKS speed loaders and am comfortable SO
Who else carries a wheel gun and what do you like

Re: Revolvers
I've been carrying (OWB/cover shirt) a 3" Ruger SP-101, .357 mag, 5-6 days a week for the last 11 years. Bought it in 2010 (very lightly used 1993 model) for field carry while surveying. Then whenever I dress with my cowboy boots (only have cowboy boots and work boots), there's a mint condition 1963 S&W Model 36 in the top left boot, no matter which semi-auto might be in the waistband. I've carried revolvers (mainly for snake shot) while surveying for nearly 40 years. Never worried about round count, and normally don't go anywhere that would require over 5 or so.

Re: Revolvers
I have a semi-auto and a J-frame revolver in my vehicle everywhere I go. I put the J frame in my pocket if I'm wearing a tucked in shirt and don't want to OC for whatever reason.
I think that qualifies as "EDC".

Re: Revolvers

Re: Revolvers
While I'm basically a 1911 guy, I find myself carrying my j-, frame almost exclusively for the last 5-6 years.
Mostly downsized because I now strictly WFH and it was lighter.
But I'm quite partial to revolvers myself. An elegant weapon from a more civilized time. ;)

Re: Revolvers
From time to time, depending on where I'm going (not big city), I carry a blued 1970s vintage Ruger Police Service Six chambered in .38 Special (not .357 Magnum). I usually carry Federal "FBI Load" (38 Special +P LSWCHP). I have a rather nice OWB leather holster from Simply Rugged that it rides in, along with a speed strip in a flat leather pouch that rides on my belt, too. That old revolver has had some rounds through it, but since the frame and cylinder were engineered for .357, I highly doubt I'll be able to wear it out in my lifetime shooting .38s in it. I have some confidence in my ability to hit with that thing, though I do understand that "no battle plan survives contact with the enemy".

Re: Revolvers
I have a Colt Banker's Special in .38 S&W that was originally my grandfather's and eventually passed down to me, so dates to the 1920s. It is fun to shoot although ammo difficult to find. I wouldn't dare carry it anywhere, except to the range.

Re: Revolvers
I will call that EDC too. I also keep a Smith J-frame in my truck console beside my driving seat. It is a LOT easier, faster to deploy if assaulted at the door. Easy to keep low enough to not see if not needed.Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 3:01 pm I have a semi-auto and a J-frame revolver in my vehicle everywhere I go.
