Anyone Seen a 3005 Sign?
I've been looking in my area. We have our share of 06 and 07 with a many of the latter disappearing over time. I started with the usual suspects who post to see if there are any new signs but cannot find any. I might be looking at the wrong businesses but I expect that, if they were going to put up new signs, they would be up by now.
I've also looked to see if there are gun buster or other similar new signs and cannot find new ones of those either. I don't remember the last time that I saw anything that looks like a general "no guns" sign in Texas.

I honestly believe the majority of people out there have no idea about constitutional carry. I believe the ones that do know it passed are not giving it much thought just yet. Most people still carry concealed and not seeing guns on everyone's hip leaves them with no thoughts about it. JMHOchasfm11 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 6:09 pm I've been looking in my area. Dumb question but...
What about all the TABC Signs? Going into the local 7-11, that sells beer, it says that it's a felony to carry unlicensed
Do those signs need to come down?
What about the 51% signs?

Nope. I didn't see any of the new signs while traveling this weekend. Most places still had their old blue signs up saying that unlicensed carry was prohibited.

I figure if they were going to do that, they would have already done it. My opinion is that there are too many other things in the news cycle that demand their attention. It is a guess but SB8 is probably on a lot more minds now than CC.

TABC blue are no longer valid, only 51% now. 30.05 and gun buster signs are valid for unlicensed carry only. LTC still adhere to 51%, 30.06 and 30.07

What is a "gun buster" sign and what part of the Texas Penal Code makes it applicable to permitless carry in a location open to the public?

Yesterday I was at Christy's Seafood, on Westheimer in Houston, and they had recently put up all three signs (30.05,30.06 and 30.07). Really annoying since they have great old school seafood. Im gonna miss eating there.

Time to update the volunteer emergency responder credentials, no doubt...

My local H.E.B. has a new 30.05 sign, along with the existing 30.07 sign.

Yes, I am curious about that, as well. Seems like the law defines what the new sign should have on it, or "substantially similar", right?ScottDLS wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:38 pmWhat is a "gun buster" sign and what part of the Texas Penal Code makes it applicable to permitless carry in a location open to the public?

I found this link interesting. Apparently the organization who published the document advises local governments.

Re: Anyone Seen a 3005 Sign?
I am bit concerned about the Penal Codes below.
Sec. 30.05. CRIMINAL TRESPASS. (a) A person commits an offense if the person enters or remains on or in property of another, including residential land, agricultural land, a recreational vehicle park, a building, or an aircraft or other vehicle, without effective consent and the person:
(1) had notice that the entry was forbidden; or
(2) received notice to depart but failed to do so.
(b) For purposes of this section:
(1) "Entry" means the intrusion of the entire body.
(2) "Notice" means:
(A) oral or written communication by the owner or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner;
(B) fencing or other enclosure obviously designed to exclude intruders or to contain livestock;
(C) a sign or signs posted on the property or at the entrance to the building, reasonably likely to come to the attention of intruders, indicating that entry is forbidden;
Sec. 30.06. TRESPASS BY LICENSE HOLDER WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder:
(1) carries a concealed handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, on property of another without effective consent; and
(2) received notice that entry on the property by a license holder with a concealed handgun was forbidden.
(b) For purposes of this section, a person receives notice if the owner of the property or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner provides notice to the person by oral or written communication.
(c) In this section:
(1) "Entry" has the meaning assigned by Section 30.05(b)
