Just spitballing for a holdover...lessee, call it a 115gr +P JHP at about 1,330 ft/s...in space there's no drag or wind so we'll just ignore the whole atmosphere and escape velocity mess and say it's fired from the International Space Station and velocity stays constant...using the average distance to the sun...er, convert to feet, carry the three...

So roughly 11 years, 255 days, 12 hours to make the trip...so the holdover would be... :biggrinjester:

Meh. A .45 ACP would take 18 years, 116 days, 19 hours, but it would make a bigger hole... :leaving

But wouldn’t both melt and then vaporize well before they got there? You know, science.

Well, if you are going the science route, I would have to point out that I don't need to hold over because of the strength of the pull of gravity the sun has.

We at the Texas A&M Science Dept. have researched this, and determined that if the handgun is fired at night the temperature will be reduced enough for a successful experiment!
