Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd
Re: Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd
It seems clear that there is reasonable doubt.
I can't tell if this is suicide by ingestion of drugs, a COVID related death, or police abuse. Since the neck hold was approved by the officer's department, it is difficult to place the blame with him personally.

Re: Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd
Perhaps duration is a factor. I get that the Floyd was unruly and that is what got him hauled out of the police car and put on the ground in the first place. I don't know police procedures but it seems counterintuitive to keep someone on the ground with a crowd growing around him. Is it any worse to truss him him, shove him back into the squad car and get him the heck out of there than to keep the hold and try to deal with the banter from the crowd at the same time? The claim that the officer wasn't paying attention has Floyd stopped breathing seems to be what has evoked sympathy for a situation where there would otherwise be none. I'm certain that the neck hold wasn't approved if it was ending a life and the officer would have no way to know the exact cause of the breathing lapse at that point.Paladin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 11:45 am It seems clear that there is reasonable doubt.

Floyd was having trouble breathing and asked to lay down. He was in trouble from the drugs and COVID. The autopsy show no marks are bruises on his neck.chasfm11 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 1:20 pmPerhaps duration is a factor. Gentlemen, there is no need to guess. Read attorney Andrew Branca's analysis of the facts.

Chauvin Pre-trial Day 2: First Three Jurors Selected

Another benefit of reading/watching Branca's analysis is that this is trial, in most ways, is what we would go through after a defensive gun use if charged with murder.

This busts the case wide open.
Chewed drugs with Floyd’s DNA on them found inside the police car he was put in and he escaped from.
Fentanyl and meth were the two drugs.

I agree that Juror Nine is bad for the defense. She has obviously made up her mind but is trying to put forth the impression that she is open minded about it all. She seems very excited about getting on this jury. My impression of her is that she is a SJW of sorts.

When we had situations like that, we would call medics. They would transport to the hospital before being cleared to go to the jail. It would have been easier to transport on a medical cot than in a squad car anyway, for someone in that condition. I'm sure they already suspected his drug use, and someone in excited delirium is really difficult to deal with.chasfm11 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 1:20 pmPerhaps duration is a factor. My experience with EMS is that they refuse to transport someone actively fighting, even if an officer rides in the ambulance with them. I do not know what Minneapolis' policies are on that.Chris wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:26 amWhen we had situations like that, we would call medics. Government, like fire is a dangerous servant and a fearful master
If you ain't paranoid you ain't paying attention
Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war let it begin here- John Parker

When this ex-LEO gets acquitted, the riots we saw last summer will look like a picnic in the park. We didn't go dove hunting last year, I suggest we all clean our 870's, then put them back in the cabinet, Just in Case.

i agree, its going to be a real heads-up if they acquit him. The BLM/NFAC crowd will go absolutely ballistic. Cities will burn, people will die.

One big difference is that DNC operatives were behind those riots. Now that they have successfully stolen the election, they will lay low.baseballguy2001 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 4:13 pm When this ex-LEO gets acquitted, the riots we saw last summer will look like a picnic in the park.
