Two things.
On the first statement, that is why I give most people like that the EVIL EYE when they start approaching me with that begging nonsense. Just a ruse to get into your personal space.

On last statement; that is why I never leave the range without first reloading all magazines and chambering before I head back to my car. I do it right there at the bench. I see so many people just grab there stuff and leave. Because you might just have to make a quick stop somewhere and then an incident like this or worse occurs.
Amen!! I do the same thing but thought I was just paranoid, now I dont feel so bad.

This is proof positive that armed citizens are a crime deterrent.
Not exactly. The crime still occurred. The outcome was different than expected, but the assault and attempted purse snatching still occurred.

Was watching a prison show a while back and some of the convicts were saying they're much more afraid of citizens with guns that a police officer with a gun.

Seems that the lady got out of it with her purse and relatively unhurt. Once the shotgun came out the criminal decided hurting the lady and stealing from these folks wasn't a good idea.

He could, but there's a general defense of necessity.

People who lawfully defend themselves are rarely brought up on such minor charges.
