The Ruger PCC is another tool in the box, it has its roles.

I will say, Ruger used to have some barrel manufacturing issues, but they generally clean up with a new crown.

I can’t speak to any previous barrel mfg issues Ruger might have had, but the current PCC's barrel is cold hammer forged, which is usually a sign of a pretty good barrel. The crown on mine seems cleanly cut and is free of any visible burrs. I haven’t gauged it, so this is just a cursory assessment. Also, I wasn’t very serious about trying to shoot small groups when I zeroed the rifle at 25 yards. I just wanted a basic zero, I was using cheap bulk ammo, and I was pressed for time at the moment. It’s entirely possible that I might be able to better my results in another range session.....or not. We'll see.
