So I now have a third person I actually know that has or had Covid.

First was a 55 year old slightly overweight guy with no preexisting conditions. He went to the hospital but was not ventilated and was off work for three weeks. He hated it, but seems fine now.

Second was a heart surgeon who got it from his son who plays football. So tired he said chewing food was hard. No hospital, out for ten days. No other symptoms, except if he took a really big breath he coughed. Said the fatigue was terrible.

Third. A cute blonde19 year old sophomore at UT in a sorority, but staying off campus. Only at UT 3 weeks before she had chills and a sore throat. Symptoms lasted 12 hours. Went to student health got tested and was positive, although she is no longer symptomatic. She has 3 roommates in an apartment. Mom told her to quarantine, but other roommates used the her thermometer to check their temperature before she was tested.

And so it goes.

Out of the roughly 185,000 American that have died of COVID this year, how many of those would have died from other causes?
I would wager that number is much closer to 20% than 94%.

Yeah, that 94% is an extremely misleading number. It's irresponsible to throw that out there. True, as RoyGBiv put it, there are some people who would've died anyway with or without the virus, but to say over 50% would've died from pneumonia anyway is preposterous. Most of what is listed as additional causes of death are normal complications brought about by having the seasonal flu. It is not even a stretch to say that pneumonia, bronchitis, etc are also typical complications of COVID.

It will definitely not surprise me if the vaccine comes out a week before elections. At this point, the vaccine is being produced in full capacity despite it not being approved yet. I also heard that this vaccine will be distributed by the military, mainly to streamline logistics.

US numbers slightly improving. Egypt has just a few more (9k) than tiny Kuwait. Large China has as many as Kuwait. Open Sweden has less than all these. India is challenging the US for first place, not a good sign for India. It has more than twice the US daily infection rate. California is still in the lead in the US. No protest bump in Minnesota. Texas numbers better. Houston numbers better, but a bump in deaths per day. Naturally an increase in deaths lags an increase in infections.

When this all began in early March, we were warned by the World Health Organization that COVID-19 was the worst epidemic in generations, with an infection fatality rate of 3.4% and a hospitalization rate exponentially higher that was going to swamp all of our big-city hospitals. As such, there was no way to compare it to the flu. Anyone who did was treated almost like a Holocaust denier.

Now, those same control freaks are comparing COVID to the flu! See, if they were right about the threat level of this virus, the contrast between it and the flu would be black and white. Talking about the perfect storm between COVID-19 and the flu would be tantamount to tethering the health care concerns of cancer to those of a cold.
