If you like having guns, you must support Trump.
Is he crude at times? Yes. Does he do some bone headed things at times? Yes? Does he make enemies when he doesn’t need to? Yes.
Are his morals impeccable? No.
Has he been the most persecuted man to ever hold the office? Yes in my lifetime.
Has he helped the conservative cause? Yes.
If he is not re-elected will it be the end of America as we know it? From all appearances it will be.
I suspect we will take the path of Venezuela never to return.
The violence and vitriol we have seen will just accelerate and once they have our guns there will be no turning back.

Re: Some people have no decency
Please help me understand where you're going with this. The real world choice before us is between two imperfect options. Would you prefer the country to be led by a senile old man who doesn't know where he is, can't put complete sentences together, and is committed to confiscating your guns over a brutally honest man who offends snowflakes, has shrewdly dealt with world leaders to restore respect for America, brought about the strongest economy the country has ever seen, restored our military from the wreckage Obama / Biden left, and is completely dedicating to preserving the second amendment and all our other constitutional freedoms?Zen wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:49 pm So, as a Republican, you really think he is it? Re: Some people have no decency
Trump may be harsh and abrasive and unlikable but I don't really care. What he isn't is someone interested in destroying the nation from within. Only a fool, or someone anti-American, will refuse to support Trump in the election. Only a fool.
Is Trump's re-election postponing the inevitable? Most likely. Unless there is a mass extinction event targeting leftists. They continue to import more leftist voters, illegal though it is, and continue to devise plans and schemes to fraudulently vote. They will eventually vote us down the river to Venezuelan hell, in large part due to those who fail to see what is right before them.

There is nothing zen about failing to support Trump as a means of supporting ourselves and what is right for our nation.

Vote against Trump 2020 is a vote given to marxists. We can discuss other things you mentioned after the election.Zen wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:49 pm So, as a Republican, you really think he is it? I'm pretty sure its guys like McCain, Romney, etc who were destroying our party. Those guys were always fake conservatives and against our 2nd Amendment rights. Trump did the smart thing by actually representing the people of America. Trump represents Americans who work for a living and make our nation the best in the world. The globalist oligarchs hate Trump and use their media machine and brownshirts against him, but honestly they would do the same to anyone who challenged their Quiet Coup. Simon Johnson predicted the current power struggle back in 2009.Zen wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:49 pm So, as a Republican, you really think he is it? He and His supporters are destroying our party. It’s likely that none of the establishment Republicans who Trump pushed aside in 2016 would have beaten Clinton. “Principled Republicans” aka Never Trumpers would prefer we be talking about President Hillary Clinton.Paladin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 11:36 amI'm pretty sure its guys like McCain, Romney, etc who were destroying our party. Re: Some people have no decency
Many of you appear to be falling into what is correctly named a false dichotomy. There are choices besides Trump and Biden. While I have not paid attention to all of the choices, I do know that Jo Jorgenson is the presidential nominee for the Libertarian party. As long as everyone continues to believe we have a two party system and that if you don't vote for one party you are supporting the other party, we will continue to end up with screwed up choices.
I am not saying that you should not support Trump or Biden, just that you should support the candidate that best represents your interests. There are more than two options on the ballot and any candidate can win if people stop believing in this false dichotomy.
I also like to point out that abstaining is a valid vote. It does not help decide who will be the president, but it seems to be the largest single vote in the country. That says a lot about the problems we have, IMO.

I agree srothstein, it’s just that a libertarian cannot win right now and a vote for libertarian will be a vote for Biden in the broad sense. I say that as a libertarian. Sorry for off topic post.

Re: Some people have no decency
If you care only about feelings after the vote then yes, there are other choices. If you care about the actual outcome of the election you have 5 options.
1. Vote FOR the good of the nation, to support the second amendment, against converting to Venezuelaism, by voting for Trump.
2. Vote AGAINST the good of the nation, to support the second amendment, and for converting to Venezuelaism, by voting for Biden.
3. Vote for feeling good by voting for a 3rd party candidate who has absolutely zero chance of winning but makes you feel good, in effect voting for Biden and against the nation.
4. Vote for feeling good by voting for a write-in candidate who has absolutely zero chance of winning but makes you feel good, in effect voting for Biden and against the nation.
5. Stay home and abstain from voting, in effect voting for Biden and against the nation.
Libertarian? Other 3rd parties? Absolutely support them and vote for them in primaries. But until something changes and they show a real possibility of winning there are only 2 choices spread across 5 options.
But at least you can do it all while eating some of THE BEST BBQ ever in Luling.

Re: Some people have no decency
Sorry, I don't vote based on feelings, including voting for who I think can win. I vote for the candidate that I most agree with. If we all voted based on who we thought could win, we would not have elections at all. Only one person can win. Many people honestly believe that Trump has no chance of beating Biden and the Democratic machine. Some people think that Biden cannot beat Trump. Does that concept (voting for someone you think stands a chance of winning) mean they should vote based on who they thought would win, whether they agreed or not? This is the false dichotomy I was referring to. I think the other parties do stand a chance to win if they convince the majority of voters they are the right person.LDB415 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 3:00 pmIf you care only about feelings after the vote then yes, there are other choices. Your belief that the other candidates cannot win so you won't vote for them is what is known as a self-fulfilling prophecy, another thing I am dead set against. They can win, as has been shown historically, or we would still see Whigs on the ballot.
Fortunately, the greatest thing about the US is that I get to vote for whomever I want for whatever reasons I want while you get to vote for whomever you want for whatever reasons you want. I think you, by believing in the options you listed as the only options are contributing to the problem of two parties that are flip sides of the same coin.

Re: Some people have no decency
This is very close to my voting philosophy. Though I word it a little different. Whether it is the primary, a runoff, general, or special election; I vote for the candidate that I believe will be the most effective advocate for issues of concern to me. To me, there is a balancing act of whether a candidate agrees with me on issues, and how effective they will be. There may be a candidate that better aligns with my beliefs. However, if I do not think they would be an effective advocate...I typically select a different candidate.srothstein wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 1:29 pm I am not saying that you should not support Trump or Biden, just that you should support the candidate that best represents your interests.

Re: Some people have no decency
I don't vote on feelings. I vote on who is better for the country and has an actual chance of winning. Otherwise the one who is worse for the country wins. That isn't feelings. That's facts. And the fact is we can't afford the one who is worse for the country. We've got to do whatever it takes to insure that guy loses.

Remember what we have learned. The only free speech is Liberal Speech. All other speech is automatically cancelled. A vehicle with a Trump 2020 banner would send snowflakes into convulsions, lawsuits for hate crimes, and a severe climate change in Hades.
My prayer is that Trump / Pence prevail in the election. Although the Left has been infected with the STUPID, they will deteriorate into the CRAZY STUPID. I want to watch that transformation!
