Broward voters deserve the gov’t they have. Apparently, honor is not a core value of their police union.

The Miami Herald article ends with:
As a result of BSO’s response, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended Israel from his post in January 2019. The Florida Senate voted 25-15 to remove Israel in October 2019.

DeSantis appointed Gregory Tony, who is mired in a reelection battle against Israel and others seeking the top law enforcement job in Broward County. The Democratic primary is in August.

Tony recently suspended Bell, the union leader, with pay, accusing him of corrupt practices, conduct unbecoming an employee, and violations of policy on truthfulness, employee statements and discretion.
The local union sounds like a mafia.

He co-authored a book "Why Meadow Died" that I found quite compelling. The restorative justice initiative was part of why the shooter was still in school but there are many, many other facets to what went wrong. If one set out to create a disastrous situation, it would have been difficult to have done a better job.

I don't see that happening. There hasn't been anything to disprove that assessment.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

What else would have been going on with gun fire in the school?

What always got me was the deputy told other law enforcement to stay away. He took ownership of the response at that point.
