I don’t know how far north from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge you are going, but The Ark Encounter is well worth the trip if those things interest you. You will be there all day so start early.

We've gone up and down the Natchez Trace between Nashville and Natchez a couple of times. Vicksburg and Natchez have much history to share. You might want to visit them before the statues, monuments, etc. are torn down by the antifa and dipocraps?

I remember when Gatlinburg had only three Mom n' Pop 'tourist courts' and was as 'dry as a bone'....unless you knew one of the local moonshiners. Dolly Partain, was an unknown girl singer on the local grocer's TV show. It's way too touristy crowded now....for us.

Dollywood and Dolly's Calvacade was a lot of fun near Pigeon Forge. Bo Jangles is great fastfood Chicken. Sabine State park. on the Texas Louisiana Border. I loved the New Orleans sculpture park is nice, but there are a few avoidable nude bronze statues. Shallow beaches with lttle surf Biloxi are nice.

We're back from our two week road trip. We didn't get to see as many things as we planned. The weather didn't cooperate for the Nashville zoo. And we had to cut New Orleans out because we had to make a trip up to Arkansas for a funeral last Saturday. But the trip was a very welcome chance to get out of the house for a while. The truck performed flawlessly. The trailer had a few minor issues we addressed as we went. A bad valve stem the first night (thankfully it made it to Nashville before going flat over night) and an outdoor shower faucet that broke, forcing me to shut off the hot water flow for a couple of days till I was able to locate a new one to replace it with. And a bolt broke on the motor that operates the main slide out. Again thankfully it was in Memphis and there was an AutoZone close by that I was able to get a replacement bolt. Pretty much normal stuff for RV owenership.

Two weeks is a long time to road trip. We put over 3000 miles on the truck. If I had been doing hotels on this trip, we'd have been tired and ready to get home way before we did. Thankfully taking comfortable lodging with you lessens the stress. But I can tell you that my bed at home was a very welcome sight Monday night.
