all in all //bottom line is this is offering people an "item" based solely on color of skin, in its basic form. so this in its form is racist as it gives one race something another is not privy to, all on basis of race. right?

Since government discrimination based on any of the protected classes is illegal I wonder how anything like this can be determined constitutional and allowed to proceed if anyone were to challenge. However, I understand how affirmative action has it was in place for so long either.

Or is it just a case of, do as we say, not as we do?

This raises a question in my mind, since my maternal grandfather's mother was Chickasaw indian, can I buy 10 acres and have it declared Tribal Land so I don't have to pay taxes on it?

My post above was tongue in cheek, but now I hear there is talk of renaming both July and August since they were named after slave owners who also happened to lead an empire that was "built" on slave labor (Julius and Augustus Caesar). Maybe we need to go back to the old names of Quintilus and Sextilus for those months?

Frankly I don't see why, how far back in history are people responsible?
My ancestors were enslaved by the ancient Romans. I'm still waiting on the Italian people to give me the money they owe me!
