Having said that, the best suggestion I've seen yet (from Twitter) is the Washington Foreskins.
Being an ex-logterm Cowboy fan, that is what I called them, especially when John Riggins was in the backfield.
I read that since this has been in the works for a long time, some enterprising person went and trademarked all the best new names for the team.

If he got lucky, they may have to pay him to use a new name. Or be like Lady Antebellum and sue him.

Don't see what all the fuss is about BLM. The letters KKK never seemed to bother anyone.

I have had to delete at least a half of dozen post because of violation of Rule 1 and Rule 6. I was contacted by another member tonight of another post on this thread and I deleted it also. I am no longer going to continue to delete post I will just lock the thread. Many years ago we had what was called “the 10 year old daughter rule” and I know it doesn’t exist, but it would do some of you good to think that way while posting.

The new name should be the "DC Flounders".

1. Flounder is a good description of what goes on in DC
2. A Flounder, the fish, is a bottom feeder.
3. The Flounders.... sounds like... The Founders (no "L"), sort of appropriate for DC.

NFL, MLB, NBA, NASCAR....all dead to me.

If you can't entertain me, which by the way is what you exist for, without pushing a political agenda on me then I have no use for you in my life. All of these former entertainment outlets only continue to exist because of the massive television money thrown at them. When the stands are empty, and people aren't watching on their screens, eventually advertisers are going to wonder why they are spending so much money for so little return.
Well stated, and I agree. I've got MUCH better things to be spending my time/money on than so-called entertainment that proudly claims to despise me via its own actions.

I'm offended by, and hereby declare crackers a racist food item and demand they quit making them or change the names of all varieties of crackers immediately.

We could cancel almost anything in this culture if we put our minds to it.

Salt is racist, as is pepper unless it consists of 100% black peppercorns.

Native American group has suggested "Code Talkers" in lieu of the "Redskins". But ok to keep logo, since it was drawn by a Native American and depicts a Native American accurately.

I was thinking along the lines of the football parody movie "The Replacements", but not using 'Washington Sentinels'. Rather the 'Washington Signals'. (as in virtue signaling....)

Tom Landry was from my hometown. Stopped watching after they fired Landry, referred to the team after that as either 'The Dallas Plowboys' or 'The Dallas Arkies' in (dis)honor of Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson. To the best of my knowledge, both of those names are still available, and I won't even demand a royalty! :biggrinjester:

I can relate to (most of) this. Can't remember if it was 1988 or 1989 that the scum took over the franchise and completely booted Tom Landry but that did it for me. I was already heavily getting into bass fishing, so giving up the nfl (lower case intentional) was easy to do. Still is easy to do now that my "spare" time is better spent either at the range or re-loading.

I've been calling them the Fiveskins for at least thirty years now.
That seems to offend Fiveskins fans, but nobody else.

I figure it's about right.

GIven the median age of our Representatives sent to that town, I'd find the Washington Wraiths appropriate.
