That explains why videos from the Active Self Protection channel started popping up in my Youtube feed.
And as you well know, this is why I stopped carrying a 1911 myself—NOT because I disliked it and couldn’t shoot it, but because my wife disliked it and wasn’t comfortable with one. It was important to me that she be able to pick up my gun and fight with it if necessary if something happened to it, and she carries and is comfortable with Glock 9mms—specifically a G43 and a G19 which are hers. Therefore, I abandoned carrying my 1911, and began carrying a G19 (primarily). It was easier for me to adapt myself to the Glock's ergonomics than it was for her to get happy with the 1911's manual of arms and weight. And now that I’ve been carrying Glocks exclusively for a few years now, they no longer seem clunky or esthetically ugly to me, and I’m perfectly happy with carrying one. I still take my Springfield Loaded 1911 and my dad's old Ithaca 1911 to the range and enjoy shooting them, but I’m no longer interested in carrying one.AndyC wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 6:13 pmWith that said, the 1911 (as much as I love it) isn't for most people; there are many other pistols out there which are better to serve those with short attention-spans, no mechanical ability/interest, infirmities of the wrists and the inability to shoot straight.
True but there are different accounts on how well he did. I have run across people that really liked his training. Like I stated, I think there are better choices in “firearms experts” who actually have the background to back up their opinions.Rob72 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 4:50 pmLove him or hate him, Yeager has been on the two-way range. More than many can say.mrvmax wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 1:32 pm It’s the same reason I never cared for Yeager. He’s gotten very popular but I still don’t see him as an authority just because he’s viewed numerous shooting videos and comments on them. What in his background makes him a firearms guru? Is it all the firearms classes he’s taken?
