Following an executive order issued in Bexar County that will impose a fine on businesses that do not require employees and customers to wear face masks, Governor Abbott said in an interview with KWTX that such a fine has been an enforcement option for local governments to take all along.
In the KWTX interview, Abbott claimed that "there has been a plan in place all along" to allow businesses to be fined by local governments for not requiring face masks. "It turned out earlier today that the county judge in Bexar County finally figured that out. They finally read what we had written," said Abbott.
Any wagers that deep blue cities/counties are going to immediately follow Bexar's lead? My bet is that Harris County Judge Lina "Dora the Explorer" Hidalgo makes an announcement and issues an edict tomorrow. Fining the business shift the onus from the individual, but how is that no less a threat to the slowly-recovering local economies?

Well, Austin has already jumped on board:
After seeking the ability to legally require face coverings to help curb a second surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, Austin Mayor Steve Adler signed an order June 17 that requires all employees and customers on commercial properties to wear face masks. The new order is enforceable by a $1,000 fine and extends through Aug. 15.

Guess Abbott showing his true controller colors. NO ONE in government cares about liberty and freedom anymore. It's all about controlling the little people.
I see little difference between Abbott and the Dim governors.
8 people shot with a long rifle a in parking lot after a man who claimed to be a UFC fighter from CA is denied entry to the Rebar bar in San Antonio. Victims were mainly women.

Remember every incumbent at the state level is bragging about capping an increase on your property taxes as tax relief.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

After thinking about this, the govenor is essentially forcing us to wear masks. By putting this upon the businesses to enforce, the officials can claim it wasn't them that forced you to wear a mask.
Waco passed a similar order last week.
