73 yo Fiancé went to investigate noise at night in home, encounters intruder. 19 yo robber beats and strangles Fiancé to unconsciousness, woman grabs handgun asks intruder to stop strangling her Fiancé, he does not, she fires a warning shot, he continues strangling so she, stops the attack instantly.

The Fiancé is recovering at home.

Maybe she fired it to make certain she didn't have a cold barrel because, unbeknownst to the felon, the seemingly harmless, elderly Fredericksburg woman was capable of putting a 9mm-sized hole right in the middle of the thug's unibrow.

I am glad it worked out for her but yeah, I think a warning shot is a very bad idea. She is lucky that guy did not kill her fiance before she stopped him.
